Something about the welt on this design makes me think of cosmonauts and the Jetsons and futuristic astronaut suits. Also, I watched a ton of Doctor Who while working on these, so they are INFUSED with spacey-ness.
Worked from the top down, with a turned cuff and a simple repeating welt pattern. These socks do not have ribbing, so if you want a snugger sock, I recommend going down a size and using a yarn that has some nylon for some stretch and cling.
